Christmas on the Central Coast

a gift I am hoping is a joke & FaceTime with Hazel in Germany on Christmas morning.

I have made cinnamon rolls every year on Christmas morning for as long as I can remember.

Andreas was very excited about a walk on the beach

No Christmas is complete without a stop at the wonderfully gaudy and fabulous, Madonna Inn. It is one of our favorite places to grab a cocktail, people watch, and admire the explosion of Christmas decor.

All in all, it was a wonderful two weeks of relaxing, eating and celebrating with family and friends. I took a very lovely and much-needed break from my computer, which those of you who own your own business know, is very hard to come by. I am starting the new year off playing catch up, but it was well worth it! I hope all of you had a great holiday as well. I have a sneaky feeling 2013 is going to be a really great year!

Oh Ashley, lovely pictures! Thanks so much for sharing these little snippets of your Christmas!! This is also my first day in front of the computer for ages now!! I’ve been really sick the last few days (really had to lay in bed – weird feeling for me), but the good thing is: I am definitely done resting now *hehe*.

Hope to catch up soon and have a lovely start into this new year! Yours, Thea

Gorgeous photos! They make me want to go back to California! Oh how I miss the ocean!

How did you learn how to take such beautiful photos, by the way? Today on my blog, I revealed that my New Years Resolution is to take a photography class so that I can take better photos. Any tips?

    Happy New Year!

That is a great resolution! I got my bachelors in Commercial Photography and have been shooting ever since, but it is a constant process of learning. I would definitely suggest looking at your local community college, that is where I took my first classes and got hooked on photography!

    Hi Ashley,
The photos are wonderful! What a great way to spend your Christmas holiday. At work we shut down between Christmas and New Year and I also didn’t blog, which made for a nice restful holiday and quality time spent with family and the kids. I’m glad I found your blog late last year! Happy 2013 to you!

I talked about you today, while eating a plate of meat in Bulgaria (so much meat here, jeez). I said something like, “I wonder how my friend Ashley fares living in Germany… another meat-for-every-meal-type of country!’

In other news, love these photos. Glad you had a restful & rejuvenating Cali trip.
