Cruising pinterest the other day, I literally squealed when I saw the top right image. “Is she wearing polka dots on her wedding day?!?!?!?” (I really wanted to, but then that Monique Lhullier magically fell into my lap and I couldn’t say no, so I instead I rocked the polka dots to our wedding clambake) After a second click I realized that homegirl was wearing the Valentino dress I had lusted after for a greater part of last year, and while they are technically not polka dots, they look that way from a distance. SO chic and unique, and the rest of their Italian celebration looks equally as fabulous, check it out here.

For those of you who follow me on pinterest, I REALLY really apologize for filling up your feed with a ridiculous number of white-ish cocktail-ish dresses. Finding a dress for our cocktail hour has become a full-fledged obsession. See, we are doing things a little different with the cocktail hour before the ceremony, so I need something to wear during that time so I can save the real dress for the actual ceremony. I keep thinking it will just come to me and I will know, and surely I am putting way much energy into this search since the actual wedding dress purchase was one of the easiest things I have EVER done.
thoughts? I always LOVE your input!

Kate Moss married Jamie Hince on Friday afternoon wearing a John Galliano dress and I think she looked absolutely stunning. The bias cut gown is so chic and has me re-thinking my choice to wear a short dress. and that 1920’s style cap veil? gorgeous!

Are you all “wedding-ed” out after last weeks hoopla? Me? not so much. It got me thinking about all the great dresses from the last century, royal and not-so-royal, here are my faves.

When I blogged about Orla Kiely’s spring collection, this dress caught my eye, but after some internet searching I couldn’t seem to hunt it down online. :( Magically, Bhldn has it on their front page today and I think it might be a perfect little reception dress. Imagine that my legs are about half the length of hers, so it wouldn’t be nearly as mini on me. The fit could either be really good, or really bad, which means I might just need to order it and try it on in July when we are stateside. It is so sweet and girly (which you all know i love), although I was thinking to go more fashion forward, I think it might just work. What do YOU think my dears?
I am considering something like the bottom left dress for our reception, something short with long sleeves and really fun. So far no luck. I am sure I will find something amazing, I think I just need to scour the internets. If any of you darlings spy anything, pretty please send it my way :)
A few sneak peeks from Anthropologie’s new bridal line, bhldn, which will launch on Valentines Day (can you believe it is already the middle of february?!?). I think the bow and feather headpieces are pretty amazing, and the top right dress is truly stunning. What are your thoughts?? do share!
Since you all asked so nicely…. I hunted down some pictures of the dress. Or at least the next best thing. It is by Monique Luhillier and the lovely Anne Hathaway wore a very similar number to the Oscars in 2009 during her dance with Hugh Jackman. The beading on my dress is a different design, with silver beads and the dress is more of a cream color and given my height (or lack of height) I find the tea length really unflattering, so we will shorten it and obviously wear some giant heels :)
And who is crazy enough to buy said dress over the phone at 8 in the morning after only seeing a low resolution image of it held up in front of the camera on a hanger? that would be ME. :) Remember when I told you my dress shopping plans with a best girlfriend in San Francisco who runs two amazing stores filled with designer goods at a much more friendly price? Well I awoke to an email from her stating simply, “we found your dress”, apparently I have great trust in my friends :) and to top it off, I got an AMAZING deal, so tell me, how could I say no?
This GORGEOUS Santorini wedding posted on Style Me Pretty yesterday makes me (a) secretly wish we were getting married somewhere exotic and (b) really excited to do some shopping and try on some fancy dresses. How awesome is this jeweled number?
