MOVE from Rick Mereki on Vimeo.

If this doesn’t make you want to get out and check some places off your “must travel list” you are crazy!  Last year we had to save all of our euros for this little thing called “our wedding” and didn’t get to do nearly as much traveling as I would like, but this year we have NO excuse.  I am itching to get out and see more of Eastern Europe now that we are a little bit further east and hoping to fly north to a few Scandinavian countries too, although I think we will wait until winter is over for that :)  Also hoping to find the time (and money) to take our honeymoon this year!  Anywhere exciting on the books for you in 2012?

update****  turns out he made two more, and they are equally amazing!  enjoy your weekend!

EAT from Rick Mereki on Vimeo.

from their vimeo page:

3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage… all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ….into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films…..

= a trip of a lifetime.

l'amour fou

Somehow I am just now learning of this documentary about Yves Saint Laurent, but from the trailer, it looks fascinating, and I am dying to find a way to watch it.  Has anyone seen it yet?

“I understand that the most important encounter in life, is the encounter with oneself.”

oh so very true.

the girl with the dragon tattoo

Honestly, I really had no desire to read the oh so popular “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” for a long time. I casually picked it up before a flight back from Boston over the summer and since then have I read and loved all three in the series written by Stieg Larsson.  This shoot from W Magazine gives a little glimpse into Mara Rooney’s transformation into Lisbeth Salander and makes me look forward to the movie, which is slated for a release at the end of the year.  The books also gave me a strong desire to visit Sweden, which has also been on my (never ending) list of places I want to visit.  :)

my week with marilyn

The film, My week with Marilyn, started shooting yesterday in London and released this press photo of Michelle Williams as the beloved starlet.  I think she looks stunning and will do Miss Marilyn justice in her portrayal of her, only one problem- she definitely does not have Marilyn’s curves…..  I’m sure they can work some hollywood magic, stunt curves maybe?
